As we all know by now, Roger Waters will not be part of the new Pink Floyd album. If you didn’t know this based on the fact that he left the band in 1985, and that they recorded two albums since he left, he recently reminded everyone via a terse Facebook post.
But you know who actually might be back with Floyd on the new album? Physicist Stephen Hawking.
Hawking, whose ALS-related motor neuron disease causes him to have to communicate through a speech generating device, contributed some vocals to the band’s last album, 1994’s The Division Bell, on the song “Keep Talking.”

As Floyd’s new album, The Endless River, is built upon recordings that began during the Division Bell sessions, and there’s a song on the new album called “Talkin’ Hawkin’,” it seems likely that the man will be guesting on two Floyd albums in a row (albeit consecutive album separated by two decades).
The news was apparently confirmed via Reddit, with users claiming that a website leaked the Endless River credits — and that Hawking is included.

Fans are likely more curious over whether or not Pink Floyd — which includes singer/songwriter/guitarist David Gilmour and drummer/founding member Nick Mason — will tour in 2015 to support the album. The band have yet to make any announcements about any performances or promotional appearances for the album.
The Endless River is set for release Nov. 10.
